ひな祭りを前に、ご近所の方からひな人形見学のお誘いをいただいたので、各クラスごとにお邪魔させていただくことにしました。ひな壇に丁寧に飾られた立派なおひな様を見る機会も減ってきているので、近くで見ることができて子どもたちは大喜びでした。

ひな祭りの由来やそれぞれのお人形の名前なども丁寧に教えていただき、楽しいひな祭りになりました。外国人の先生方も興味深い様子でいろいろ質問されたのですが、すでに私も並べ方さえ分からない状態💦 日本文化をしっかり英語で発信できるくらいには、確認しておくことはまだまだたくさんあるなぁと、反省するいい機会にもなりました😗

Hina Matsuri

Today, we had a special event. Our neighbor invited us to her house for us to see Hina Matsuri dolls!

During the circle time, we made sure to mention some things before visiting our neighbor’s house. We talked about how we should be behaving in the house not to cause any trouble. We talked about how we can show appreciation and how we can listen to her in a nice way. We also discussed what we know about Hina Matsuri and its traditions.

After the circle time, we got ready feeling excited to visit our neighbor’s house. We put on our jackets and blue hats to head outside.

今日は特別なイベントがあったのです。ご近所の方が、ひな人形を見るために私たちを招待してくださったのです！

サークルタイムでは、ご近所の方のお宅にお邪魔する前に、いくつかのことを確認しました。迷惑をかけないように、家の中でのマナーについて話しました。どのように感謝の気持ちを表すのか、どのようにお話をお聞きするのかについて話しました。また、ひな祭りについて知っていることや、ひな祭りの伝統について話し合いました。

サークルタイムの後、私たちはご近所を訪問するのを楽しみに準備。上着を着込み、青い帽子をかぶって出発しました！

When we entered the house, we greeted our neighbor and went to see the special dolls. We were amazed by the dolls that we saw in the room. There were a lot of them! We took a look closely and counted to see how many dolls there were.

After taking a close look to everything on display, our neighbor started talking about the objects that we saw on the stands. She introduced the dolls to us and let us know what each doll is called.

We talked about the prince and the princess. We talked about the musicians and the people who are responsible for helping the prince and the princess (the maids). She also introduced us some objects that they used to use in the past such as a closet and heater. We talked about what type of clothes they used to wear and what we call that special clothes.

ご近所の方に挨拶をさせていただき、特別な人形を見に行かせていただきました。部屋に飾られた人形を見て驚きました。たくさんの人形！ じっくり見て、なん体あるのか数えてみることにしました。

展示されているものすべてをじっくり見た後、ご近所の方は私たちがひな壇で見たものについて話し始め、人形を紹介し、それぞれの人形の名前を教えてくれました。

王子（お内裏）さまとお姫（おひな）さまの話、音楽隊（5人囃子）や、王子さまとお姫さまのお手伝いをする人たち（3人官女）についても話しました。

また、クローゼットやヒーターなど、昔使っていたものを紹介してくれた。どんな服を着ていたのか、その特別な服を何と呼ぶのかについてもお話ししてくれました。

Lastly, she gave us some snacks(Hina Arare) as a present! We were so happy to spend such good time there and also grateful for getting a present from her.

最後に、彼女は私たちにお菓子（雛あられ）をプレゼントしてくれた！楽しい時間を過ごすことができ、またプレゼントまでいただき、本当にありがとうございました。

After yesterday’s event, today it was the time to do some cooking. We were excited from the morning to eat some yummy chirashizushi. As usual, we started with getting all together in the big room and preparing the ingredients. Now that we have done this a several times before, we were experienced enough to get everything done together quickly. We can work in pairs nicely and without making a mess. We started becoming little chefs here in CHES.

昨日のイベントの後、今日は料理の時間です。おいしい「ちらし寿司」が食べられるとあって、朝からわくわくです。いつものように、まずはBig Roomに集まって材料を準備。今までに何度かやったことがあるので、私たちは経験豊富で、手早くすべてを終わらせることができました。2人1組で作業しても、ぐちゃぐちゃになることはありません。私たちは、ここCHESで小さなシェフになったのです。

First, we started cutting the eggs into thin strings. We learnt that this is really important while preparing chirashizushi. Mr. Sean showed us how to cut them nicely and we understood the assignment quickly.

After getting done with the eggs, we put them aside and started making the fishcake smaller. In the same teams, we chopped them into small pieces. But this time, there were no rules about how to chop them. We were free to chop them as we wanted. Chop chop chop!

Later, we mixed the sweet vinegar and the rice together. This gave the rice a very unique taste and made it even tastier. After mixing the vinegar and the rice well together, it was time to add the vegetable mix into the bowl. We mixed everything well and we were ready to go!

まず、卵を糸状に切ります。これはちらし寿司を作る上でとても重要なことです。Mr. Seanがきれいに切る方法を教えてくれたので、私たちはすぐに課題を理解することができました。

卵の処理が終わると、私たちは卵を脇に置き、かまぼこを小さくし始めます。同じチームで、かまぼこを細かく刻みました。しかし今回は、切り方にルールはありません。好きなように切っていいのです。チョップ・チョップ・チョップ！

その後、甘酢とご飯を混ぜ合わせた。こうすることでご飯に独特の風味が生まれ、さらに美味しくなった。酢とご飯をよく混ぜ合わせた後、いよいよ野菜ミックスをボウルに入れる。すべてをよく混ぜて準備完了！

Everyone was super excited to start eating and see how it tastes like. It was a success!  As little chefs, we were able to make delicious chirashizushi all together working so hard. We were so happy with the result that we kept getting more bowls for ourselves.

Finally, we briefly talked about Hina Matsuri and its traditions again to remember everything we learnt yesterday. We were glad to participate in this and celebrate it together.

みんな、どんな味がするのか食べるのが楽しみで仕方なかっです。出来栄えは大成功！ リトルシェフとして、みんなで力を合わせて美味しいちらし寿司を作ることができました。出来上がったちらし寿司に大満足で、何度もおかわりをしました。

最後に、昨日学んだことを思い出すために、ひな祭りとその伝統についてもう一度簡単に話しました。ひな祭りに参加し、一緒にお祝いできたことを嬉しく思います。
