Hello everyone!

How have you been feeling about the weather recently? As a Canadian, I appreciate the cool wind. It was a long summer.

Since October is our month for telling stories and being creative, our main focus is on strengthening our imagination! All of us have one, and using it is just a matter of practice, like anything else. In October, we will do our best to use our imaginations, and our brains, in as many different ways possible.

One of the ways we practiced using our imagination was making our own imaginary creatures! They can be anything (from dragons to unicorns) but we tried it by combining two other creatures together. We thought of animals with interesting or cute characteristics and saw what they looked like if we joined them.

Today, we used worksheets to design our own imaginary creatures. We had to use our own brains and really think. Designing a creature was not easy!

Another part of our creativity in October is Halloween!

There are lots of creative monsters and characters that we can see appear in this month. For example, we saw lots of Jack-o-lanterns in the decorations around the school.

But our own class wasn’t decorated enough. We decide to add our own Jack-o-lanterns to the class as well!

Do you have a Halloween costume prepared?

We will practice trick-or-treating when it gets closer to Halloween!

Red Fox and White Owl are also working on a special project for October!

That’s right… we’re making a movie!

Using our own ideas for plot, scenes, and characters, we will make it all from scratch. We will add make the characters move, and finally, add our own voices. When we are done, we’ll be sure to show you, so look out for that!

Finally, thank you to everyone from joining us for Sports Day.

It was a lot of fun, and everyone was happy to celebrate it after a month of practicing and training. Everyone did a very good job, including the parents! Well done!

We will continue to have as much fun as we can, while learning as much as we can.

Even though Sports Day is over, we will try to “do our best” in everything we do.

みなさん、こんにちは。

最近のお天気はいかがでしょうか？ カナダ人の私としては、涼しい風はありがたいですね。長い夏でした。

10月は、物語を語り、創造的になる月なので、想像力を強化することに主眼を置いています。私たちは皆、想像力を持っていて、それを使うことは、他のことと同じように、練習の問題です。10月は、できるだけいろいろな方法で想像力を、そして脳を使うようにします。

想像力を働かせる練習のひとつに、自分たちの想像上の生き物を作ることがあります。ドラゴンからユニコーンまで何でもいいのですが、今回は2つの生き物を組み合わせることに挑戦しました。面白い動物やかわいい動物を思い浮かべ、それらを組み合わせるとどうなるかを考えました。

今日は、ワークシートを使って、自分たちの想像上の生き物をデザインしました。自分たちの頭を使って、本当に考えなければなりません。生き物をデザインするのは簡単なことではありません。

10月のクリエイティブな活動のもう一つの目的は、ハロウィンです。

この月は、たくさんのクリエイティブなモンスターやキャラクターが登場します。例えば、学校の周りにはたくさんのジャック・オー・ランタンが飾られています。

でも、私たちのクラスはまだ飾り付けが足りません。そこで、自分たちのクラスにもジャック・オー・ランタンを飾ることにしました。

ハロウィンの衣装は用意しましたか？

ハロウィンが近づいたら、トリック・オア・トリートの練習をしようね。

White Owl学齢とRed Fox学齢の園児は、10月の特別企画にも取り組んでいますよ。

そうです、映画を作るんです。

プロット、シーン、キャラクターなど、自分たちのアイデアで一から作り上げるのです。そして、キャラクターを動かし、最後に自分たちの声を加えます。完成したら、必ずお見せしますので、楽しみにしていてください。

最後に、運動会に参加してくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました。一ヶ月間の練習とトレーニングの末に迎えた運動会は、とても楽しく、みんな喜んでいました。保護者の方も含め、皆さんとてもよく頑張りました! よく頑張りました!

運動会は終わっても、何事にも「ベストを尽くす」ことを心がけていきたいと思います。
