Hello everyone, and welcome to the end of another week.

We worked hard this week and were busy almost every day! On the one hand, we were learning lots of new things about the solar system.

We could recall what order the planets come in, how gravity works, and why the Earth is important.

On the other hand, we are busy preparing for Sports Day in October! That means every day, we are training hard to run fast, work together, and always try our best.

Do you know where each of the planets are?

Mars is next to Earth…
Saturn is between Jupiter and Uranus…
Mercury is nearest to the Sun…
Neptune is farthest from the Sun!

If you ask your child, I think they will know the order. We have been singing a song that helps us remember!

The Moon is not a planet, but we can see it in the sky every night. We talked about different moon phases, and how it will be a full moon on Saturday.

Will you take part in tsukimi?

In class, we read the story of Kaguyahime and made our own tsukimi dango. It was difficult to turn paper into a circle, but we did our best!

That wasn’t all for our princess though. Do you remember the bamboo we made for tanabata? We saved it, and used the bamboo that Princess Kaguya was found inside to make her a rocketship!

When it was all finished, we had many beautiful rockets that we could use to send Princess Kaguya back to the moon.

We were very happy and hoped that it would be a clear night on Saturday. But it looks like it might rain… Still, maybe we can see the full moon. Make sure you check!

As I said before, we were also practicing every day to get better at our Sports Day activities.

It was a lot of fun to work together to sing songs, play games, run races, and even just remember where to line up. Sports Day is always an exciting event, so let’s try our best!

皆さんこんにちは、今週も終わりですね。

今週は、ほぼ毎日忙しく働きました。一方で、私たちは太陽系についてたくさんの新しいことを学びました。

惑星がどのような順番で来るのか、重力の仕組み、そしてなぜ地球が重要なのか、思い出すことができました。

一方、10月の運動会の準備で大忙しです。つまり、毎日、速く走ること、協力すること、いつもベストを尽くすことを一生懸命トレーニングしているのです。

それぞれの惑星がどこにあるか知っていますか？

火星は地球の隣…
土星は木星と天王星の間…
水星は太陽に一番近く…
海王星は太陽から一番遠い！？

お子さんに聞けば、順番がわかると思います。覚えやすいように歌を歌っていますよ。

月は惑星ではありませんが、私たちは毎晩空で月を見ることができます。月の満ち欠けについて話したり、土曜日には満月になることを話したりしました。

皆さんはお月見に参加しますか？

授業では、かぐや姫の物語を読み、自分たちでお月見団子を作りました。紙を丸くするのが難しかったけど、がんばりました。

でも、かぐや姫はそれだけではありません。七夕に作った竹を覚えていますか？　その竹をとっておいて、かぐや姫が中に入っていた竹を使って、ロケットを作りました。

完成すると、かぐや姫をお月さまに送るためのきれいなロケットがたくさんできました。

私たちはとてもうれしくて、土曜日の夜が晴れていることを願いました。でも、どうやら雨が降りそうです…。でも、もしかしたら、満月が見えるかもしれません。必ず確認してくださいね。

先程も言いましたが、運動会の活動も上手くなるように毎日練習していました。

歌を歌ったり、ゲームをしたり、競争したり、列に並ぶ場所を覚えたり、みんなで協力するのはとても楽しいことです。運動会は楽しいイベントだから、がんばろうね。

ん、これは何のゲームかな？　わかるかな？
