6月があまりにも暑かったからなのか、ようやくセミが鳴き始めても、「これから夏！？」と、なんだか季節感が少しずれてしまったかのように感じてしまう7月💦 「プリ・クラス」では、Topicが子どもたちに大人気の「Insects」に替わりました。

年少学齢の「Blue Bird」クラスでは、動物と虫の違いから始まり、この日は「ants and bees」にフォーカス。クラフトを交えて「Insects」について学びを深めていきました。

しばらくの間、暑すぎて公園に出かられない日もあったのですが、そろそろ公園でのBug Huntも始められそうです。子どもたちも体験しながらさらに学びを深められることを楽しみにしています。

🐜 Learn about ants and bees 🐝

We keep digging deep in the insects’ world. This week, we’re continuing our focus on ants and bees 🐜🐝 Since we see them around so often, we thought that learning about their world would be fun and exciting😊

We started the week by wondering, where do ants live? We always see them walking in a line, working hard and carrying bits of food, but where do they go after that? We learnt that ants live underground! Their home is called a nest. Inside the nest, there are little rooms dug in the soil.

昆虫の世界を深く掘り下げていきます。今週は引き続き、アリとハチに焦点を当てます🐜🐝 普段よく見かけるアリだからこそ、彼らの世界について学ぶのは楽しくてワクワクするだろうと思いました😊

今週は、「アリはどこに住んでいるんだろう？」という疑問から始まりました。アリはいつも一列になって歩き、一生懸命働き、食べ物を運んでいるのを目にしますが、その後はどこへ行くのでしょうか？アリは地中に住んでいることを学びました！彼らの住処は「巣」と呼ばれています。巣の中には、土に掘られた小さな部屋があります。

Some rooms are used for storing food, and some are used for taking care of baby ants. We also found out that there is a very important ant in the nest called the queen ant. The queen ant lays eggs and has her own special room to take care of them. The baby ants come from these tiny eggs.

We even looked at some pictures of queen ants and noticed something really interesting, they have wings! We talked about how they look different from the other worker ants and why they are so important.

To help us imagine what a nest looks like, we looked at some detailed pictures of ant nests underground. There were so many little tunnels and rooms. Then, we learnt a new song about the queen ant. You can listen to it together at home as well 😊

いくつかの部屋は食べ物を貯蔵するために使われ、いくつかの部屋は赤ちゃんアリの世話に使われます。また、巣には女王アリと呼ばれるとても重要なアリがいることも学びました。女王アリは卵を産み、卵の世話をするための特別な部屋を持っています。赤ちゃんアリは、この小さな卵から生まれます。

女王アリの写真も見て、とても興味深いことに気づきました。女王アリには羽があるんです！他の働きアリと見た目がどう違うのか、そしてなぜ女王アリが大切なのかを話し合いました。

巣がどんな様子なのかを想像するために、地下にあるアリの巣の詳細な写真を見ました。小さなトンネルや部屋がたくさんありました。それから、女王アリの新しい歌を学びました。お家で一緒に聞いてみてくださいね😊

🐝 We moved on to bees!

After we explored the world of ants, we moved on to bees!

We talked about where bees live, what they make, and how they look. We learnt that bees live in a beehive, and inside the hive, they work together to make something very sweet, honey!

アリの世界を探検した後は、次はミツバチの世界へ！

ミツバチがどこに住んでいて、何を作っているのか、そしてどんな姿をしているのかについて話しました。ミツバチは巣箱の中で暮らしていて、巣箱の中ではハチミツというとても甘いものを作るために協力し合っていることを学びました！

We also looked closely at pictures of bees and noticed their fuzzy bodies, wings, and black and yellow stripes. We spoke about how bees are also very busy insects, just like ants. They fly from flower to flower collecting nectar, which they bring back to the hive to turn into honey.

また、ミツバチの写真をよく見て、ふわふわした体、羽、そして黒と黄色の縞模様に注目しました。ミツバチもアリと同じように、とても忙しく活動する昆虫であることについて話しました。花から花へと飛び回って蜜を集め、それを巣箱に持ち帰ってハチミツを作るのです。

これが私たちの蜂の巣のクラフトです。これからもクラフト作りを続けていきたいと思います。
