しばらく帰国していたMs. Dilaraが、今週からBlue Birdクラスに復帰。Blue Birdクラスの子どもたちは大喜びです。子どもたちは帰国していた間に学んだあれこれを、Ms. Dilaraに言いたくてしかたがない様子、たちまちクラスの中は笑顔であふれていました。

これから年末にむけては、イベントが続く忙しい時期になりますが、この様子だとみんなで楽しく乗り切っていけそうです😊

Introduction to Recycling! / Happy Earth

I hope everyone is doing great. I am happy to be back with the kids and to see their bright smiles in the classroom 😊 It didn’t take long for us to catch up, as they immediately started telling me all about what they did during my absence.

They also shared the songs they had learned with Ms. Masami and sang them loudly and proudly. I really enjoyed listening to them!

皆さんお元気ですか。子どもたちと教室で会えて、明るい笑顔が見られて嬉しいです😊 子どもたちは私がいない間に何をしていたのか、すぐに話し始めたので、たちまち打ち解けることができました。

また、子どもたちはMs. Masamiに習った歌を披露してくれて、大きな声で誇らしげに歌ってくれました。聴いていて本当に楽しかったです。

After reviewing what the children had learned during my absence, we began our new topic for this week: recycling! First, we started with the basics and took it slow to help them understand the concept. I told them a story about a little girl named Luna.

Luna is a child, just like Blue Bird, who goes to school. One day, on her way to school, she feels thirsty and drinks from her plastic bottle. When the bottle is empty, she throws it on the ground, and the Earth becomes sad.

私が不在の間、子どもたちが学んだことを復習した後、今週の新しいテーマ「リサイクル」について話を始めました。まずは基本から始め、ゆっくりと理解を深めることに。ルナという女の子のお話をすることにしました。

ルナはBlue Birdクラスの子どもたちと同じように、学校に通う女の子です。ある日、学校へ行く途中、喉が渇いたのでペットボトルの水を飲みました。ボトルが空になると、地面に投げ捨ててしまい、地球は悲しくなってしまったのです。

We discussed what the right thing to do in this situation would be, and the kids immediately told me that she should have thrown it in the trash bin. Then, I showed them a special trash bin with a special sign on it. We call this the recycling sign.

We talked about its meaning, but left the details for later. We will continue learning more about it in the coming days. Afterward, we discussed how we can make the Earth happy, and then we started our craft.

This is the Happy Earth we created together, decorated with flowers, hearts, and trees 💚

Later this week, we will also explore how the Earth feels when there is too much trash around.

この状況でどうするのかが正しいかったのかを話し合いました。すると子どもたちはすぐに、ゴミ箱に捨てるべきだったと言いました。それから、特別なマークがついたゴミ箱を見せることに。私たちはこれを「リサイクルサイン」と呼んでいます。

マークの意味についても話し合いましたが、詳細は後ほど。これから詳しく学びます。その後、どうすれば地球を幸せにできるか話し合い、工作を始めました。

これが、みんなで作った「ハッピーアース」です。花やハート、木で飾られています💚 今週後半には、ゴミが多すぎると地球がどう感じるのかについても学びます。
