7月7日、七夕です。「プリ・クラス」の子どもたちは、各学齢にあわせてそれぞれの願いを星に届けています。

なかでも年中・年長学齢の子どもたちには、「願い事」に少し厳しい課題がだされました。無条件にたくさんの願い事をするのではなく、「Wishes that will make us better or happier people 」、自分自身がより良い人間になるため、そしてみんなをより幸せにするための「願い事」という課題です。しかも、その中から1つを選ぶというものです。

果たして、子どもたちの願いを星たちは叶えてくれるのでしょうか💦

Let’s Make a Tanabata Wish💫

This July started off super-hot! We are staying indoors and staying as cool as we can, but we are enjoying the topic of bugs and insects too. Hopefully the temperature will go down a bit, and we can start hunting for real bugs in the coming days.

For now, though, we have been able to see plenty when going to and from school, as well as in our garden! Butterflies, ants, roly polies, and even dragonflies have come to say hello. We were also able to get nice juicy tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden. The vegetables seem to like the hot weather!

7月は猛暑の始まりでした。なるべく涼しい室内で過ごしていますが、（7月Topicの）虫の話も楽しんでいます。もう少し気温が下がって、これから本物の虫探しを始められるといいのですが…。

今のところは、登園・降園の時やCHES Gardenでたくさんの虫を見ています。蝶々、アリ、ダンゴムシ、トンボまでもが挨拶に来てくれました。庭では、ジューシーなトマトとキュウリも収穫できました。野菜たちは暑い気候が好きなようです。

We celebrate Tanabata💫

The beginning of July has a certain event to think about too, though. On 7/7, we celebrate Tanabata, the festival of stars!

We used this chance to talk about stars and space, the Milky Way, and how far away space is. On Monday, we will learn the story of Orihime and Hikoboshi. For now, we wanted to make our wishes.

For the younger kids, just putting up a star was good enough. Their true wishes were in their hearts!

7月初めには、あるイベントがあります。7月7日は七夕、星祭りです。

この機会に、星と宇宙、天の川、そして宇宙がどれほど遠いかについて話しました。月曜日には織姫と彦星の物語を学びます。今は、願い事をすることにしました。

年少未満（Yellow Kangaroo）の子どもたちは、星を飾るだけで十分でした。本当の願い事は、心の中にあるからです。

Let’s hope wishes come true!💫

The bigger kids needed to think about one wish they wanted to make. Picking just one wasn’t so easy! They needed to really think about something they wanted to become real. We tried to think together about some good wishes that wouldn’t be wasted.

We came up with ideas like what jobs we wanted to have in the future, places we wanted to visit, or even more creative ideas. Now let’s hope they come true!

年中学齢以上（Red Fox・White Owl）の子どもたちには、叶えたい願い事を一つ考えてもらいました。一つだけ選ぶのは簡単ではありません。叶えたいことを真剣に考える必要がありました。私たちは一緒に、叶えたい素敵な願い事を考えてみました。

将来どんな仕事に就きたいか、どこに行きたいか、もっとクリエイティブなアイデアなど、たくさんのアイデアが浮かびました。さあ、叶えてくれることを祈りましょう！

We can make our own wishes come true!💫

We talked about how it is important not to be greedy or selfish when wishing as well. Just the same as we are when we are playing with friends and in class. We thought about wishes that were more impactful or important than just “I want more toys” or “I want money”.

Things like “I want to visit many countries” or “I want to have many friends” were said. Wishes that will make us better or happier people will be good for all of us!

For the days leading up to Tanabata, let’s keep our wishes and mind and think about how we can make them real.
We can pray that they come true, but even better is taking things into our own hands.

Yes, that’s right — we can make our own wishes come true!

願い事をするときにも、友だちと遊ぶときやクラスで遊ぶときと同じように、欲張ったり利己的になったりしないことが大切だと話しました。「もっとおもちゃが欲しい」「お金が欲しい」だけでなく、もっとインパクトのある願い事や重要な願い事について考えてみました。

「多くの国に行きたい」とか「たくさんの友だちが欲しい」とか。私たちをより良く、より幸せにしてくれるような願いは、私たちみんなにとって良いことになるでしょう。

七夕までの日々、願い事を心に留め、どうすれば叶うか考えてみましょう。願い事が叶うように祈るのもいいですが、もっと素敵なのは、自分で行動を起こすことです。

そう、願い事は自分で叶えられるのです！
