今年も「プリ・クラス」卒園前の最後の遠足に行ってきました。行先は、恒例の「こども本の森 神戸」です。舞子駅から三宮駅までJRを利用しての移動。道すがら、White Owlの園児たちはさまざまな展示物なども確認、市役所の展望ホールでは外国人観光客と少し会話も楽しみ、近くの公園では大はしゃぎ、それでも秩序正しくテキパキ行動してくれました。

本の森でも、お話を聞かせてもらった後は、それぞれの興味のある本を探しだしては、Mr. Seanに読んでもらったり、自分自身で読みふけったりと、「本」を十分に楽しむことができました。

Kobe Children’s Book Forest 📚

This has been a busy week, especially for White Owl! On Tuesday, we travelled around the neighborhood with umbrellas to clean up drive. On Wednesday, we sang our hearts out to practice for graduation. And today, we went all the way from Maiko Station to Sannomiya and beyond as we took our final field trip together!

The trip to Kobe Children’s Book Forest is always a major part of the day. Going there and reading books is the main purpose, but spending the day with the students and teacher alone is also important. We travel farther than other field trips. We show that we can stand confidently in a busy train. We can follow the correct path and read a map. We can do it!

今週は、White Owlクラスにとって特に忙しい一週間でした。火曜日は傘を持って近所を回ってClean up Drive。水曜日は卒業に向けての練習のため、心を込めて歌いました。そして今日は、舞子駅から三宮まで行き、一緒に最後の校外学習です。

神戸子ども本の森への旅行は、いつも1日の大きな部分を占めます。そこに行って本を読むことが主な目的ですが、生徒と先生だけで1日を過ごすことも重要です。私たちは他の校外学習よりも遠くまで行きます。混雑した電車の中で自信を持って立つことができることを示します。正しい道をたどり、地図を読むことができます。White Owlはできるのです！

1. Flower Road

After getting on the train, we indeed found it was very busy! We held on tight and before we knew it, we had arrived in Sannomiya station. We navigated out of the station and onto the path to our destination. Along the way, we saw some interesting things that caught our eye. These landmarks would help us find our way back!

It was interesting to see more of our city as we walked down the street.

We saw art and displays, we saw people and cars, we saw flowers and trees, and much more. We saw plans for construction and what we might be able to see in the future. We saw parks and memorials. We were quiet and thoughtful. We waved at people who passed us by.

1. フラワーロード

電車に乗ると、本当に混雑していました。しっかりつかまっている間に、気がつくと三宮駅に着いていました。駅を出て、目的地への道を進みます。途中で、目を引く興味深いものをいくつか見ました。これらのランドマークは、私たちが戻る道を見つけるのに役立ちます。

通りを歩いていると、街の様子がもっと見えて面白かったです。

アートや展示物、人々や車、花や木など、たくさんのものを見ました。建設計画や将来見られるかもしれないものを見ました。公園や記念碑も見ました。（記念碑の前では）静かに、思慮深い態度を示しました。通り過ぎる人々に手を振り挨拶もしました。

2. Mountain and Sea

After a bit of walking, we saw a familiar sight. There was a building on our route that we could use as a rest stop. We stepped inside and travelled up to the 24th floor. The elevator was pretty amazing. It only took about one second per floor! It felt like no time at all before we were at the top.

We were able to go to two different lookouts: one facing the mountains, and one facing the sea. We took a look. It was hard to believe that what we were seeing was even a real window. Everything looked so tiny from up here!

We enjoyed our time there and even met some visitors. As we pointed at the large cruise ship in the harbor, they commented that that was their ship! We could also see our destination: The Children’s Book Forest was just ahead.
After a quick restroom check, we were off again!

2. 山と海

少し歩くと、見慣れた景色が見えます。道沿いに休憩所として使用できそうな建物がありました。中に入って24階まで行くことに。エレベーターはすごいです。1階あたり約1秒しかかかりません。あっという間に頂上に着いたように感じました。

展望台では山側と海側両方に行くことができました。見物してみることに。見ているものが本物の窓だなんて信じられません。ここからはなにもかもがとても小さく見えます。

そこで楽しい時間を過ごし、数人の観光客にも会いました。港にある大きなクルーズ船を指差すと、彼らは自分たちの船だと言いました！目的地も見えます。すぐ先にある「子どもの本の森」です。トイレをちょっと済ませて、また出発！

3. Kobe Children’s Book Forest

We made it! We had some time to spare, so we played around in the park nearby. We had fun exploring the giant clock, statues, and other interesting architecture.

After running about, we were exhausted and stopped to refuel and eat lunch. Soon, it would be time for our appointment!

We went inside right on time. We talked a little bit about the rules beforehand, and so we were prepared when we went in. The staff were very kind and read us some interesting stories about animals and friends. They discussed the rules with us, and we were quickly able to understand and abide by them.

Without any delay, we were given free time! The next 90 minutes was full of exploration. There was something like 18000 books in the Forest, so there was plenty of choice. Everyone splits up to look at different things.

Books we had seen before, books that looked interesting, books that were about something we liked. Books that were in English, books that were in Japanese. Books about silly things. All kinds of books!

3. 神戸こども本の森

到着です。時間に余裕があったので、近くの公園で遊ぶことに。巨大な時計や彫像、その他の興味深い建築物を探索して楽しみました。

走り回った後、疲れ果てたので、休憩して昼食です。すぐに予約の時間になりました！

時間通りに中に入りました。事前にルールについて少し話していたので、準備万端で中に入りました。スタッフの方はとても親切で、動物や友だちについての興味深い物語を読んでくれました。ルールについて話し合い、すぐに理解して従うことができました。

遅れることなく、自由時間です。あとの90分間は探検でいっぱい。本の森には約18000冊の本があり、選択肢は豊富です。みんなが手分けしてさまざまなものを見ました。

以前に見たことのある本、面白そうな本、好きなことについて書かれた本。英語の本、日本語の本。ふざけたような内容の本。いろんな種類の本がいっぱいです！

4. The Way Home

It was finally time to go home. Even though we discussed that it would be a 5-hour day at the start, it didn’t feel like it was almost over. However, we still had one final journey.

Thankfully, we remembered all the landmarks and made it back to the train station with plenty of time for our train. We had a nice train ride back to Maiko where we chatted about all kinds of things. It was nice to rest our legs.

We stopped a bit to play in the park on the way home though. It was a good chance, we had to take it! And that’s it! Our final field trip was a success. Good work White Owl!

If you keep up the good deeds, good attitude, and good smiles, you will go far in grade1. Only one more thing left now: graduation! Until then,

4. 帰り道

ついに帰る時間。スタート時に5時間の行程になると話していたにもかかわらず、もうすぐ終わるという感じがしません。でもまだ最後の旅が残っています。

ありがたいことに、私たちはすべてのランドマークを覚えていて、電車に間に合うように駅に戻ることができました。舞子まで電車で戻り、そこでいろいろなことを話しました。（電車のなかで）足を休めることができて良かったです。

帰り道にある公園で遊ぶために少し立ち止まりました。いい機会だったので、逃さずにいられません。以上です！最後の遠足は成功でした。White Owl、よく頑張りました！

良い行い、良い態度、そして良い笑顔を続ければ、小学1年生になっても大きく前進できます。でもまだあと1つだけ残っています。卒園式です。それまで…。
