年少学齢以下（Blue Bird・Yellow Kangaroo）のクラスのみんなで、消防署を見学させていただくことができました。いつも遊んでいる公園の近くということもあり、年中・年長学齢（Red Fox・White Owl）クラスのお兄ちゃん・お姉ちゃんが消防署まで案内してくれたので、小さな子どもたちも元気に訪問。

消防車や救急車に乗せてもらったり、はしごを使った訓練をみせてもらったりと、街を守ってくれている消防士さんたちの活動をまじかに感じることができる良い経験になりました。

Fire Station Visit 👩‍🚒

Blue Bird Class

It’s a sunny day today! After all the snow, we were a bit concerned about how the weather would turn out, but it’s actually been great. Since the morning, everyone has been excited and ready to go to the fire station!

Firefighters and fire stations are topics we talk about from time to time. We’ve discussed them over the past few months, and this month, we’re diving deeper into the details of firefighters and their work. We really appreciate the hard work they put into their jobs and are always impressed by the amazing things they can do!

晴れました。雪が降ったので天気がどうなるか心配していましたが、本当に良い天気になりました。朝からみんなワクワクして消防署へ行く準備をしています。

消防士や消防署については、時々話題になります。私たちは過去数か月間にわたって消防士について話してきましたが、今月は消防士の仕事をさらに詳しく掘り下げていきます。消防士がその仕事に懸命に打ち込む姿に心から感謝し、消防士ができる素晴らしいことにいつも感銘を受けています。

We know that firefighters are an important part of society because they save lives. When there’s an emergency, we can call them for help. They stop fires, save people who might be stuck inside buildings, and do many other lifesaving tasks.

When we look at firefighters, one thing that catches our attention is their special uniforms and boots. This makes us wonder, “Why do they need to wear that specific uniform?” What makes it so important?

Firefighters wear these uniforms to protect themselves while working in dangerous situations. The materials in their suits are designed to protect them from extreme heat, flames, and other things. The boots help keep their feet safe from things like sharp objects or hot surfaces.

消防士は命を救うため、社会の重要な役割を担っていることを私たちは知っています。緊急の場合は、消防署に電話をして助けを求めることができます。消防士は火災を止め、建物内に閉じ込められている可能性のある人々を救い、その他多くの人命救助の仕事を行っています。

消防士を見ると、注意を引くのは、特別な制服とブーツです。考えてみると、「なぜ、特定の制服を着る必要があるのでしょうか?」と疑問に感じます。なにがそんなに重要なのでしょうか？

消防士は危険な状況で活動する際に身を守るためにこれらの制服を着用します。スーツの素材は、極度の熱や炎などから身を守るように設計されています。ブーツは、鋭利な物体や熱い表面などから足を安全に保ちます。

After discussing these things, we wanted to make something special for our visit to the fire station. Since we are all interested in fire trucks, we thought making a fire truck medal would be a great idea.

We colored the fire truck red and attached yarn to make it look like a medal. Then, we hung them around our necks before hitting the road.

At the station, we were welcomed by the firefighters. They let us ride on the firetruck and even take a look inside of the ambulance! They showed us their uniforms, they climbed on a ladder, and we got to see their mask up close as well.

It was a lot of fun being able to see the things in real life that we had talked about earlier.

これらについて話し合った後、私たちは消防署訪問をなにか特別なものにしたいと考えました。みんな消防車に興味があるので、消防車のメダルを作ってみたらいいのではないかと思いました。 消防車を赤く塗り、ひもを付けてメダル風に仕上げました。出発前には首から掛けました。

消防署では消防士が出迎えてくれました。消防車に乗らせてもらったり、救急車の中も見学させてもらったりさせてもらいました。制服を見せてくれて、はしごに登り、マスクも間近で見ることができました。

出発前に話していたものを実際に見ることができてとても楽しかったです。

Yellow Kangaroo Class

Those 2 days were good training for us to be ready in our fire station visit. The nearest is just at the top of the small park. Before we move on to our visit, let us have some very important information about fire fighters.

この 2 日間は、消防署訪問に備えて良い訓練となりました。一番近い消防署はLittle Parkの上にあります。訪問前に、消防士に関する非常に重要な情報をいくつか知っておきましょう。

What do they wear? They wear a helmet, a thick jacket, boots and gloves to protect themselves. They always have the good training in order for them to handle heavy gears for their protection.

Who can be a fire fighter? A person who is brave, strong, and ready to save anyone who needs help when emergency comes.

What tools do they use? They have an ax to break the window if needed, a water hose to splash water, a long ladder to reach a higher place when someone is on top, and other equipment for more complicated emergencies.

Where do they ride? They ride in a big fire truck. Sometimes, they can also use the ambulance. They are always together. And there is also like a leader car to lead the way. It is also red in color.

消防士はどのようなものを着ていますか？ 身を守るためにヘルメット、厚手のジャケット、ブーツ、手袋を着用します。消防士は自分の身を守るためや重い道具を扱うために、常に適切な訓練を受けています。

誰が消防士になれるでしょうか？ 勇敢で強く、緊急事態が起こったときに助けを必要とする人を救う準備ができている人です。

消防士はどのような道具を使っているのでしょうか？ 必要に応じて窓を割るための斧、水をかけられる放水ホース、人が上にいるときに高い場所に登るための長いはしごなど、より複雑な緊急事態に備えた装備が備えられています。

消防士はなにに乗りますか？ 消防士は大きな消防車に乗ります。場合によっては救急車を利用することもあります。いつも一緒に出動します。そして先導するリーダー・カーのようなものもあります。色も赤です。

Kids love all the community helpers namely doctors, nurses, house builders, fire fighters, policemen, bus drivers, train drivers, and many more. We are grateful for their help.

When kids grow up, maybe one of them might be like them too. Let’s look forward to it!

子どもたちは、医師、看護師、住宅建設業者、消防士、警察官、バスの運転手、電車の運転手など、地域で活躍するあらゆる職業が大好きです。このような職業の方々のサポートに感謝しています。
