2024年CHES冬休みホリデー・クラスも無事楽しく終了することができました。これでインターナショナル・プリスクールの2024年のスケジュールはすべて終了です。

今年もCHESの運営にご協力・ご理解いただき本当にありがとうございました。心から御礼申し上げます。

2024年CHES冬休みホリデー・クラスのTopic「北極探検」から広がっていく様々な活動のほんの一部ですが、まとめてみましたので、子どもたちが楽しく英語で過ごした様子をぜひご覧ください。

2025年は、1月6日（月）から通常通り運営します。また来年も子どもたちと一緒に楽しく英語で学んでいきますので、変わらぬご支援賜りますようお願い申し上げます。

For these 2 days we are learning new things.

Younger Kids Class day 1 talked about Polar Bear’s fat called Blubber. We had fun trying new things and we got the chance to feel the skin. (Not for real.)

First layer is called the Blubber – thick fats. Second layer is called the Black Skin – it is like cover for the fats. Third layer is called the Short Dense Hairs – it is like our baby bangs. Fourth layer is called the Long Transparent Hairs – it is the outermost part that everyone can be seen.

Younger Kids Classの1日目は、Blubberと呼ばれる北極熊の脂肪について話しました。新しいことに挑戦するのは楽しかったし、皮に触る機会もあったのです。（もちろん本物ではありませんよ）

第一層はBlubberと呼ばれ、厚い脂肪です。第二の層はブラックスキンと呼ばれ、脂肪を覆っています。第三の層は短い密集した毛と呼ばれ、私たちの赤ちゃんの前髪のようなものです。第四層は長い透明毛と呼ばれ、誰もが見ることができる一番外側の部分です。

In this experiment we put our hands in plastic bags thickly coated with lard and touched the ice water to experience the sensations of polar bears.

We felt no colder than if we had touched the ice water with our bare hands!

ラードを厚く塗ったビニール袋に手を入れ、氷水に触れてホッキョクグマの感覚を体験する実験です。

素手で氷水に触れた場合よりも冷たく感じませんでした。

Our day 2 talked about Carbon Dioxide (CO2). If too much then all the ice in the Arctic will melt. We will have over flowing water all over the world.

When vinegar and baking soda are mixed, they change and produce a gas called carbon dioxide in the process. The gas produced may look like bubbling bubbles.

In this experiment the kids saw the changing of colors because of the food colors. It was just to add more fun. We put on smocks to avoid stain and for safety. They have tried the real laboratory gown and the goggles.

We were Little Einstein of CHES.

2日目は二酸化炭素（CO2）について話しました。二酸化炭素が増えすぎると、北極の氷が溶けてしまいます。世界中に水が溢れることになるのです。

お酢と重曹を混ぜると、二酸化炭素という気体が発生します。発生したガスは泡のように見えるかもしれません。

この実験では、子供たちは食紅を使って色が変化するのを見ました。楽しみを増やすためです。汚れ防止と安全のためにスモックを着用。子どもたちは本物の実験衣とゴーグルを試しました。

彼らはCHESのリトル・アインシュタインです。

Elder Kids Class

We cannot believe that the Winter Holiday Class is finished, but here we are! Thank you, everyone, for joining us on this fun journey. We had a lot of fun discussing going on an expedition, talking about the Arctic, and doing many different activities.

Today started with our regular circle time, but we decided to keep it a bit shorter compared to the previous days because we had a lot to do on our last day.

冬休みホリデー・クラスが終わってしまうなんて信じられません。みんな楽しい旅にお付き合いいただきありがとうございました。探検に行くことを話し合ったり、北極について話したり、いろいろなアクティビティをしたり、とても楽しかったです。

今日はいつものサークルタイムから始まりましたが、最終日はやることがたくさんあったので、前日より少し短めにしました。

After singing and warming up, we headed outside for a special mission called “Treasure Hunt.” Someone named Mr. Sean (Do you know who he is?) placed some gems outside in the small park.

Our mission was to check the pictures that our teachers gave us and find where all seven gems were located. We checked the pictures and used our abilities to locate them. Eventually, we were able to find everything!

歌ってウォーミングアップした後、私たちは「宝探し」と呼ばれる特別なミッションに向けて外へ向かいました。ショーンさんという名前の人 （彼が誰なのか知っていますか?） がLittle Parkに宝石を置きました。

私たちの使命は、先生がくれた写真を確認し、7 つの宝石がすべてどこにあるのかを見つけることでした。私たちは写真をチェックし、能力を駆使して写真を見つけました。結局、すべてを見つけることができましたよ。

Lastly, we had snacks, but this time it was a bit special! We ate snacks that we prepared ourselves.

We melted some marshmallows and mixed them with cornflakes. We shaped them and let them cool down. Then, when it was snack time, the best part was eating them!

We had a lot of fun. Thank you once again for joining us. We wish you a happy new year!

最後におやつをいただきましたが、今回はちょっと特別でした。自分たちで作ったおやつを食べたのです。

マシュマロを溶かしてコーンフレークと混ぜました。形を整えて冷まします。そして、おやつの時間になって、それを食べるのが最高でした！
