「プリ・クラス」6月のTopicのひとつは「My Home and Family」。クラスではこれまで家族や家のことをいろいろな角度から考えてきましたが、この日の話題の主役は「お父さん！」。

年中学齢以上のRed Fox White Owlクラスでは「なぜ父の日を祝うのか？」をみんなで話し合ってみたところ、さまざまな意見がでてきました。そこでなによりも共通していたのは、お父さんの日頃の愛情と心遣いに感謝していること。子どもたちみんなにとって、お父さんはかけがえのないヒーローです。

A Day for Dads

It’s been a busy week! Being partway through June, we already have a lot of fun games and songs that we want to practice and do before the end of the month. However, our main topic for the last couple days has been focusing on a special day coming up: it’s Father’s Day!

Today, we asked each other why we celebrated Father’s Day. Some suggestions came in. It is a day where dad can relax. Dad works hard, so we can let him take a break. We want to say nice things or show daddy that we love him.

今週はとても忙しい一週間でした。6月も半ばを過ぎましたが、月末までに練習したい楽しいゲームや歌がたくさんあります。さて、ここ数日は、もうすぐやってくる特別な日、父の日について考えていました。

今日は、なぜ父の日を祝うのか、みんなで話し合ってみました。いくつか意見が出ました。お父さんがゆっくり休める日だから。お父さんは一生懸命働いているから、少し休ませてあげたいから。お父さんに素敵な言葉をかけたり、愛情を伝えたりしたいから。

All of that is true, but one suggestion was this: we had Mother’s Day, so we should have a Father’s Day too! I agree with that. Mothers work hard and fathers work hard too. In fact, they’re a team. We have a word for them: parents.

Someone asked “Why do we need two days? Why can’t we have Father’s Day and Mother’s Day at the same time?” And while the idea is not bad, there is a good reason why we don’t. If mom needs a rest, then dad will pick up the work. And the opposite is true! When it’s dad’s turn to rest, mom will pick up the work too.

Now that’s teamwork!

どれもその通りですが、ある提案はこうでした。「母の日があるのだから、父の日も設けるべきだ！」私も賛成です。お母さんもお父さんも一生懸命働いています。実際、彼らはチームです。私たちは彼らを「親」と呼びます。

「なぜ2日も必要なのですか？父の日と母の日を同時に祝うことはできないのですか？」という質問もありました。その考えは悪くはありませんが、そうしないのにはちゃんとした理由があります。お母さんが休む必要があるときは、お父さんが代わりに仕事をしてくれます。そしてその逆もまた然りです！お父さんが休む番のときは、お母さんが代わりに仕事をしてくれます。

これこそまさにチームワークです！

This time it’s dad’s turn. That’s why we worked hard to make some presents for dad.

First, we made our annual “UCHIWA” for dad. It’s summer time and when dad wants to relax, the fan might help! One side is designed by teachers, and the other side is designed by your child! Treasure this yearly gift!

Second, we made a special craft with the photograph you offered. We call it… the Dancing Dad! We cut out the face, hands, feet, and legs, and we attached them all together with glue. We designed the shirt and pants and as a final touch, we added a pipe cleaner to make them WIGGLE!

Hopefully these dads can bring a smile to everyone’s face when you bring them home. We added a little card too, so please feel the wishes of your child this weekend. We want to support dad and grandpa, and we want to strengthen the teamwork of the family.

今回はお父さんの番です！そこで、お父さんへのプレゼントを一生懸命作りました。

まず、毎年恒例のうちわを作りました。夏真っ盛りのお父さんがリラックスしたい時に、うちわがあればきっと喜んでくれるはず！片面は先生たちがデザインし、もう片面はお子さんがデザインしました。この毎年恒例のプレゼントを大切にしてくださいね！

次に、皆さんからいただいた写真をもとに、特別な工作を作りました。その名も…「踊るお父さん！」。顔、手、足、脚を切り抜き、糊で貼り合わせました。シャツとズボンもデザインし、仕上げにモールを付けて、くるくると揺れるようにしました！

このうちわが、家に持ち帰られた時に、みんなを笑顔にしてくれると嬉しいです。小さなメッセージカードも添えましたので、週末にお子さんの気持ちを感じてくださいね。お父さんやおじいちゃんを応援し、家族の絆を深めていきたいと思っています。

Why a Fan?

1. Comfort and care: A fan help keep someone cool and comfortable, much like a father often provides comfort, protection, and support for the family.
2. A refreshing presence: Just as a fan brings a refreshing breeze, a father’s guidance and encouragement can be a refreshing source of strength in life.
3. Practical appreciation: Father’s Day gifts are often practical. A fan can show appreciation by giving Dad something useful that improves his everyday comfort.

Father’s Day Love

Our energetic Yellow Kangaroo Kids also enjoyed exciting ball games during PE Class. They practiced grabbing, catching, and shooting the ball while building coordination, confidence, and teamwork. Their enthusiasm and active participation made the session extra fun!

In the afternoon, we proudly completed our Father’s Day crafts and family picture frames. The children poured their love and creativity into every piece, creating special keepsakes for their amazing dads.

Happy Father’s Day to all our wonderful Yellow Kangaroo Daddies! We hope you loved the small gifts made especially for you. Your little ones truly love you to the moon and back, and these heartfelt creations are just a small reminder of that endless love.

Thank you for being such important heroes in their lives!

元気いっぱいのYellow Kangaroo クラスの子どもたちは、体育の授業で楽しいボールゲームを楽しみました。ボールをつかんだり、キャッチしたり、シュートしたりする練習を通して、協調性、自信、そしてチームワークを育みました。子どもたちの熱意と積極的な参加のおかげで、授業はさらに楽しいものになりました。

午後は、父の日の工作と家族写真のフォトフレームを完成させました。子どもたちは一つ一つの作品に愛情と創造性を注ぎ込み、素晴らしいお父さんたちへの特別な思い出の品を作り上げました。

Yellow Kangaroo クラスの子どもたちの素敵なお父さんたち、父の日おめでとうございます！ 心を込めて作ったささやかなプレゼントを気に入っていただけたら嬉しいです。子どもたちはお父さんのことを心から愛しています。これらの心温まる作品は、その尽きることのない愛を少しでも感じていただけるものだと思います。
